The village of Wortham has approximately 200 acres of common land which the site overlooks. A short walk from the site is the Dolphin Public House. There is also a village shop and post office with adjacent tea rooms which recently were chosen as one of the top 10 tea rooms in Suffolk. Home cooked meals are available everyday (9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 4.00pm Saturday and Sunday).
Two miles down the road in the village of Botesdale there is a Fish and Chip shop, as well as a Chinese takeaway, and the nearby town of Diss has all the facilities you would expect of a market town, including the main supermarkets.The village is also served well by buses travelling to the nearby market towns of Bury St. Edmunds and Stowmarket while the larger Ipswich and Norwich are both accessible by train from Diss.
Other local places of interest within an easy drive include the beautiful village of Lavenham with its medieval buldings, serving as the village of Godric's Hollow in the Harry Potter series of films, Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens, Banham Zoo, the Norfolk Broads, Snetterton Racetrack and the Norfolk and Suffolk coastline (approximately 40 miles away).
